Eleven years ago people of faith came together to work for economic justice with the jubilee 2000 campaign. Join Jubilee USA in this legacy of interfaith tradition for the debt cancellation movement. Millions of lives have been saved thanks to debt relief, and millions more will be with expanded debt cancellation and real reforms to the international financial system.

We need the voices of our faith leaders to join together and rise again to ask Obama to help the world’s poorest countries. If you are a faith leader, please consider signing on to our 1,000 Faith Leaders letter addressed to President Obama. The letter urges the Obama Administration to adopt economically just policies expanding debt cancellation to more poor countries in need, and establish binding standards of responsible lending and borrowing.

The 1,000 Faith Leaders letter calls for:

* An extension of debt cancellation
* A neutral platform for future decision making around debt
* The establishment of responsible standards of lending and borrowing
* Reducing the need for loans by stemming illicit resource flows and mobilizing grant assistance
* Transform International Financial Institutions to make them accountable to the people most affected by their decisions
