Are there toxic ties to your shower curtain? The familiar new shower curtain smell may be toxic to your health, according to a new study by CHEJ.
New laboratory testing found PVC shower curtains can release over 100 chemicals into the air, some of which can damage the respiratory and reproductive systems, and even cause cancer. The good news is safer PVC-free curtains are widely available.
Join us in demanding safer PVC-free products for our homes, families, and communities.

Opened some new vinyl wallpaper and the smell reminded me of a new shower curtain. Started researching VOC and came accross this report and website. People have to be aware its in all soft plastic. The more I looked around the more I notice them ever where. What about the rain guards for baby strollers. People are basically wrapping their babies in PVCs!

My girlfriend and I open a new one and put it up. To make a long story short, I ended up at the hospital and we both are sick and have severe chemical sensitivities, especially to phthalates. The MD's had/have no idea what to do. I'm looking for EDTA treatments or anything that could maybe help lower our sensitivities. We can't go anywhere like a mall or theatre or restaurant. This is real and very bad. PS we also need to get antimony out of plastics and our society.

It's disgusting that we harm people, our families & friends, developing toxic products for the all mighty dollar. Is someone's life really worth it, Walmart?

We will all pay the price of long term exposure to these toxins with increased medical expenses of our children and grandchildren. Why can't we make simple household products WITHOUT these harmful toxins??

Enough with having stuff around our homes where our kids are forced to live in an unsafe environment. PVC is toxic, potentially dangerous and could kill us. Time to get stop ignoring the matter, get everyone educated about it and lets live in a non toxic environment.
