Oleta State Park is 12 miles north of the Marriott on Rte. 1 (16 miles on I-95). As of February 21st, 10 of these 12 cabins are available; one is handicapped-accessible. They probably will not last long. The cabins accommodate 4 people, and are priced from $55 (and up?). To make reservations, call (305)919-1846.
Larry and Penny Thompson Campground (20 miles south of the Marriott on Rte. 1) is a first-class camping area adjacent to world-famous Zoo Miami. It has 270 acres of natural South Florida woodland, bridle trails and hiking paths. Rates are: Daily $34, Weekly $192; tent sites are $16.95 nightly. To make reservations call (305) 232-1049.

-->Program Advertisements: We need ads for the program book!!! Chapters, purchase your ads! Email your ad copy to Dan Ellis @ danellis@vfpmaine.org. Use the sample letter to solicit businesses or other organizations in your area! Deadline for submitting program ads is July 6, 2012.

-->Speakers: Alice Walker and Father Roy Bourgeois are the keynote speakers for the Saturday night banquet. Other scheduled speakers are Marleine Bastien, Paula Caplan, Col Anne Wright, Susan Burke and John Lindsay-Poland. Check the website frequently for speaker updates.

-->Workshops: The list will be available on the website by end of this week.

-->Tours: We're currently working to fill the 2nd van! If interested, contact Patrick McCann. Visit the convention website for more details.

-->Tabling: Space is limited, reserve your tables now. Tables are available $50 for Chapters, $75 for Ally Organizations and $200 for Vendors.

-->Awards: Do you know of someone within the VFP organization that you would like to see honored at the 2012 Convention? Submit their name now! This year's Award Committee Chairs are Board members, Matt Southworth and Cherie Eicholz. Deadline for Award Nominations is July 11, 2012.

-->Convention Media Committee Forming: This committee will be responsible for assisting with press releases and a possible press conference. Your involvement can be on-site in Miami or not, and we would love to have publicity before, during, and after the convention.
