VFP Protests Against NATO and Drones in Chicago

Yesterday started with Leah Bolger, Ann Wright and Erik Lobo attending the IVAW press conference at the Vietnam Memorial.
 
By noon VFP members and other activist groups were meeting at Chicago Obama Headquarters and Consulates
to present letters expressing our outrage about NATO operations.  Demands are also being made to put  an end to military operations, particularly drone operations, to four NATO countries:  the United States, Canada, Germany and the UK.  Several VFP members were present:  Steve Bray, Gerry Condon, Helen Jaccard, John Spitzberg, Ken Ashe, and Will Covert.

VFP's next electronic town hall meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, May 30, 2012.  The meeting will be chaired by Leah Bolger, Mike Reid and Nate Goldshlag.

Fukushima and VFP Anti-Nuclear Working Group Forming

Malcolm Chaddock of VFP Chapter 72 in Portland, Oregon is very concerned about the ongoing Fukushima meltdown, which, despite the denial of politicians and mass media, is said to be a continuing threat to all life on earth.  

Email Malcolm about joining this working group and possibly working with him to educate VFP members about the ongoing Fukushima crisis!

VFP member, John Amidon, from VFP Chapter 010  in Albany NY was among 15 protesters arrested Feb. 25th while protesting the Minute Man Missile launch at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California.  All pleaded not guilty in federal court on Thursday. <Full Story>
