Protect our public lands from off-road vehicle abuse

Irresponsible use of off-road vehicles is damaging fragile ecosystems, particularly in the West, and preventing other visitors from safely enjoying public lands.

Please ask your congressional representative to protect public lands and safety by enforcing ORV laws.

Protect our public lands from off-road vehicle abuse

The harmful effects of off-road vehicles are becoming a primary threat to our public lands.  Reckless off-roading is also a growing safety threat, particularly for children. Off-roading is now an exploding law enforcement burden that outstrips the ability of under-staffed rangers to control.

I am asking you to take steps to protect both public safety and public lands by supporting 

1) tougher penalties, including confiscation of vehicles when off-roaders are caught destroying property or ignoring the law, and riding suspensions and jail time for repeat offenders; 

2) an increase in federal law enforcement and land restoration funding for public lands agencies suffering from off-road vehicle problems; and 

3) a thorough congressional inquiry into the full costs of reckless off-roading to tax-payers and natural resources, leading to common sense solutions to the growing off-road problem.
