Dear Supporter,
We’re coming down the home stretch for the Wyoming Range Legacy Act, and we need one last push from you to protect this special corner of Wyoming for hiking, hunting, fishing, camping and all other natural values that represent the freedoms we cherish.
Next week, Congress returns to work for only 15 working days. This will be our LAST CHANCE of the year to pass this important bill introduced by Wyoming Sen. John Barrasso.
Here’s how you can help in the next two weeks:
1) Write a letter to the editor, no matter how short, to show your support.
You can’t underestimate the impact of these citizen letters. Politicians read them; candidates read them. They create a groundswell. The Casper Star-Tribune will print every letter! E-mail the Star-Tribune.
2) Call or e-mail Sen. Barrasso to thank and encourage him and continue the fight for the Wyoming Range. Urge him to do a full-court press on his fellow senators to convince them that some places are too special to drill and to vote in favor of this omnibus bill during the upcoming session.
Contact Sen. Barrasso via our website.

When you write your Letter to the Editor, please point out that:
• The legislation protects Wyoming’s values, safeguards our western way of life, our wildlife, hunting, fishing and recreational opportunities and maintains traditional livelihoods of ranching, outfitting and tourism.
• The legislation allows access to energy resources in the Wyoming Range: it does not affect valid, existing lease rights or already producing fields in the Range and it allows for directional drilling. The bill is balanced.
• Wyoming needs open spaces, wildlife AND oil and gas. Wyoming needs tourism AND energy. The Wyoming Range bill protects oil and gas rights WHILE protecting Wyoming’s outdoor legacy. This bill promotes balance in our state.
• Wyoming is already doing more than its share to produce energy for the nation. We need to protect our special places for OUR future and for the legacy we leave our children and grandchildren.
