The BTNF is updating the travel plan for many parts of the National Forest to address problems of motorize use in riparian areas. Tell them what you think. |
If you're weary of the unrelenting noise from motorized travel on the northern portion of Wyoming's Bridger-Teton National Forest, now is the time to make your pitch for a little peace and quiet.
The BTNF is taking comments through Monday, Aug. 4, on its new draft Environmental Impact Statement for summer and fall motorized use on 255,000 acres scarred by user-created trails. This unabated use on the BTNF's North Zone has had profound impacts on wildlife and its habitat.
Though all of the alternatives contain seasonal road closures and offer solutions to degraded habitat, Alternatives B & D offer the greatest protection.
Tell the Forest to ensure that motorized routes do not disturb wildlife and that they allow opportunities for other forest visitors to engage in quiet recreation. Please tell them about the places you use on the Forest and how you want those areas managed.
