Yellowstone Ecosystem Action Alert

Idaho's Roadless Areas at Risk

Urge Closure of Bison Capture Facility

Dear Supporter,

The Meade Peak roadless area would be open to bulldozers. Act Today!

The Bush Administration and their friends in the Idaho state government are trying to open the last remnants of pristine southeast Idaho roadless areas to logging and phosphate mining. Let them hear your opposition to their plan, which provides substantially less protection for Idaho's remaining 9.3 million acres of roadless areas-especially in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. These ecologically critical lands are a rare part of our wild heritage and deserve our support before it's too late. Tell them today that you won't allow them to hand over to industry lands that belong to all Americans!

Tell the Forest Service NOT to Renew Bison Capture Facility Permit

Already this year, more than 1,300 bison have been removed from the Yellowstone bison herd-including more than 100 that have been sent to slaughter from a capture facility near West Yellowstone. The facility is on Gallatin National Forest land, on cattle-free Horse Butte peninsula. The facility's Forest Service permit is up for renewal now. Please tell the Forest Supervisor that this facility should no longer play a role in the harassment and slaughter of Yellowstone bison.

The Forest Service is seeking public comments as to whether they should allow Montana's Department of Livestock to continue capturing bison on this federal land. Please join others in asking that Yellowstone bison be allowed to roam on America's public lands without the threat of harassment, capture, and ultimately - death.

Bison should be allowed to use Forest Service land on Horse Butte.

Please comment today! Tell the Forest Supervisor not to allow this capture facility on our National Forest lands!
