Dear Supporter,
Like humans, wild animals get sick. But should humans contribute to the spread of disease among wild animals; and then slaughter the ones that are sickest?

That's the question in Wyoming right now. The Forest Service is preparing to allow elk to be fed during the winter on large feedlots, concentrating them and promoting the spread of disease. Brucellosis, a disease which affects both elk and cattle, is at high levels among elk in these feedgrounds.
To add insult to injury (or death to disease), the State of Wyoming is capturing elk and testing them for brucellosis. Those that test positive are sent to slaughter.
The Forest Service is complicit in this activity—they are preparing to allow these progams on Forest Service lands. Worse, they are pretending that these activities are minor, don't require a full analysis, and may be "categorically excluded" from review.
Please Act Now! Send an email to the Briger-Teton National Forest telling them to thoroughly review this practice.
