Demand End to Abuses at VTech Phone Sweatshop in China
Tell AT&T, Motorola, Wal-Mart, Sony, Philips and Deutsche Telekom to stop profiting from the repression and denial of internationally recognized worker rights standards at the VTech sweatshop in China.
One major company has done the right thing: Upon receiving the Institute’s report, “VTech Sweatshop In China,” Telstra in Australia immediately ordered all phone dealers to cease selling the VTech phones and remove all stock from the shelves! “Urgent Attention: Stop all VTech products / As of right now, you are required to stop selling the below VTech items.”
AT&T, Motorola and the others must follow suit.
Once a thorough remediation plan is in place to end the gross sweatshop abuses and bring VTech into compliance with at least China’s minimal labor laws, production and sale of VTech phones and other devices could immediately resume.
Please help. Please send a letter to AT&T, Motorola, Wal-Mart, Sony, Philips and Deutsche Telekom.
