Help end "Blood Gold" salesTell the SEC: implement rules that will end mining's financing of human rights abuses
Right now, gold mining is financing war, murder and rape in the Democratic Republic of Congo and nearby countries. The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is drafting rules that, if thorough, will discourage sales of this “Blood Gold” – putting a significant dent in its trade. The end goal: to reduce the associated human rights abuses in the DRC and nearby countries. Unfortunately, many companies and industries that will be bound by this rule are pushing the SEC to water them down. TAKE ACTION: Please tell the Securities and Exchange Commission that their rules must get “Blood Gold” out of the gold supply chain! The SEC needs to hear from you! Comments are due by next Wednesday, March 2nd. Tell the SEC you don't want any more Blood Gold in your electronics and jewelry! Instructions:
