Legislators: Say NO to Monsanto's Dirty Money

Millions Against Monsanto(scroll down to send an email to your legislators)

Monsanto is a MAJOR force in the political arena. Each year Monsanto contributes close to thousands of dollars to elected officials through its Poltiical Action Committee and spends millions of dollars each year lobbying legislators and regulators.

Follow this link to see if your Congressperson accepted contributions from Monsanto during the 2007-08 political cycle.

Learn more about Monsanto's Political Action Committee at their corporate web site.

Additionally, Monsanto has had great success in inflitrating government posts with former executives, scientists and attornies.                                                                                                                             Visit OCA's Millions Against Monsanto campaign page for examples of Monsanto's ties to the US government.

Monsanto could be a case study in corporate irresponsibility. A short list of their misdeeds include:

-Persecuting Small Family Farmers: Monsanto has sued and bullied thousands of farmers nationally and abroad for allegedly using their patented seed or attempting to market their dairy products as “rBGH-free.”

-Marketing dangerous chemicals, like PCBs and Agent Orange: Despite overwhelming evidence, Monsanto continues to refuse compensation to veterans and families for exposure to the toxic chemical agent orange

-Force feeding the world Genetically Engineered Crops: Monsanto has sought to undermine organic agriculture and contaminate the global food supply from Argentina to Canada.

-Promoting “Suicide Seeds”: Monsanto has repeatedly attempted to market "Terminator" seeds, engineers plants to produce sterile seed, forcing farmers to become dependent on Monsanto for seed.

-Bribing Indonesian Environmental Officials

-False Advertising in the United States, France, India and Brazil

-Plan Colombia:  In conjunction with the United States so-called Drug War, vast swaths of Colombia has been sprayed with super concentrated versions of Monsanto’s RoundUp, contaminating Colombian communities, waterways and farms.

Price-fixing: Monsanto was linked to price fixing genetically engineered seed sector with other biotech corporations, according the Guardian of London.

Contact your elected officials today and urge them to say NO to Monsanto's dirty money!
