Caterpillar Shareholder Meeting Protest!
Next Wednesday, we will gather outside of Caterpillar's shareholders' meeting and engage in creative street theater and leafleting to educate shareholders and passersby about how Caterpillar bulldozers are used to destroy Palestinian homes and agricultural land and build the infrastructure of occupation, including the apartheid wall and illegal Jewish-only settlements. At the same time, representatives from the Jewish Voice for Peace, Hampshire College Students for Justice in Palestine, and others will be inside the meeting presenting Proposal #5, the shareholder proposal requesting a report of weapons-related sales or of sales of products related to those sales, including a list of the countries purchasing such products. For a copy of the full proposal along with Caterpillar's previous statement for voting against the proposal, click here. For too long, Caterpillar has been an instrument of occupation and apartheid in Israel/Palestine, now we have to bring the fight against CAT to Chicago. Join us as we demand transparency and accountability in Caterpillar's sales and protest its involvement in the illegal destruction of Palestinian homes and livelihoods!
