Bike to Work Day 2012

Join more than 12,000 area commuters for a celebration of bicycling as a clean, fun and healthy way to get to work. Bike to Work Day is a free event for both new and experienced bicycle commuters throughout the Washington metropolitan region. Those who register and attend one of the 58 regional pit stops will receive a free Bike to Work Day T-Shirt, food, drinks, and a chance at winning bicycles or other great raffle prizes.

On one Sunday morning each year there is the special opportunity to explore and enjoy Washington and Arlington from the best possible vantage point--the seat of a bicycle! From the Capitol and White House to Arlington Cemetery and the Air Force Memorial, from Pennsylvania Avenue to the George Washington Parkway, Bike DC is a non-competitive bike ride through the heart of our community and the heart of the nation.

Bring a Friend to a WABA Adult Education Class
WABA's adult bicyclist education opportunities are available for a wide range of skill sets from beginner to advanced throughout the Washington region. Beginner classes start from the ground up with our Adult Learn to Ride classes and increase through bicycle commuting and continue onto more advanced topics.
Learn to Ride
Are you an adult who never learned how to ride a bike? Now is your chance to learn! Come to WABA's adult first time riders' class and learn to ride a bike. Bikes and helmets will be provided.
Confident City Cycling
Participants of all levels are encouraged to attend these 3 hour classes which will have options for multiple skill levels ranging from simple bike handling skills and using trails to learning avoidance maneuvers and riding with traffic. Participants must bring their own bikes, helmets, and water.
