2012 Vasa Ride
Sunday, March 4th

Break out your ski goggles for the region's first large organized bike ride of the season! The Annual Vasa Ride is WABA's bicycle-themed tribute to Sweden's legendary Vasaloppet, the world's longest running cross country ski race. Held on the first Sunday of March, 400 riders of all ages and experience levels join together for a noncompetitive ride to brave the coldness of winter and traverse DC and Maryland's terrain. Thanks to our gracious hosts at the Swedish Embassy, all finishers will celebrate their feats with a traditional bowl of warm blueberry soup. Registration will capped at 400 riders. And remember, if it snows bring your skis!

Paul's Ride for Life - WABA Partnered Event

Reston Town Center Pavillion

Riders may sign up for a 10 mile, 20 mile or Half Century (50 mile) ride. The route is along the Washington and Old Dominion bicycle trail between Reston and Purcellville. After Paul's Ride, join in the fun at The Bike Lane Cyclefest Expo from 10 am to 2 pm at the Reston Town Center Pavillion. Proceeds from Paul's Ride for Life benefit the Washington Regional Transplant Community to support awareness and education for organ, eye and tissue donation.

Climate Ride is not only a fully-supported, 5-day charitable bike ride, but it's also the one and only multi-day charitable bicycling event that supports green causes.
