WABA's Resolution to Ride Responsibly
The Washington Area Bicyclist Association (WABA) is making 2011 the Year of the Bicycle, and we want every bicyclist in DC, Maryland and Virginia to take part. WABA fights hard to defend and ensure the rights of cyclists to use the roads, but we need your help to uphold our shared responsibilities.
Please read and sign our Resolution to Ride Responsibly below and tell any other cyclists you know about this effort and encourage them to sign it too. The new year is the perfect time to make a commitment to make yourself and your community better.
Most importantly, please think about how you ride, your responsibility to yourself and other road users, and what you can do to help as a member of the bicycling community. We're all out there on the same roads and we can all make them a better place to ride!
WABA's Resolution to Ride Responsibly
In 2011…
…I resolve to be a more responsible bicyclist.
…I resolve to better respect the rights of other road users.
…I resolve to make a good faith effort to better follow the law.
…I resolve to yield to pedestrians.
…I resolve to help make bicycling safer and easier for all of us.
