We Stopped $686 Million in Mid-Year Cuts to Schools!

Last Wednesday, the Assembly and Senate approved a deficit reduction plan without mid-year cuts to education.

The Senate’s strong resistance, under the leadership of Democratic Conference Leader Senator John Sampson, joined by Speaker Sheldon Silver and the Assembly Majority, turned the tide against the Governor’s proposal to cut $686 million from our schools.
