Women Say NO to the Escalation—

Whether or not you voted for Barack Obama, this escalation of 30,000 troops to Afghanistan is not the HOPE he promised.

Sign the petition below, which will be promptly delivered to the Executive Office of the President. We can still show our outrage at this decision to escalate violence and let the Administration know that we will push back (through Congress, in the streets and more) on this decision! Feel free to add your own message!

President Obama,

We want a future where national security is based on international law and cooperation, reducing the proliferation of weapons, demonstrating respect for human rights, promoting democracy and sustainable development, and that addresses emerging threats effectively, before reaching crisis levels.

We believe that this will not happen by an escalation of troops and violence, but by redirecting our national resources to improving the health, education and welfare of the American and Afghan people. 

We believe that the funding of 30,000 more troops to Afghanistan over the next 2 years will drain our nation and still leave Afghanistan without the stability and security it needs. We will continue to push back on this HOPELESS ESCALATION in the streets, in the offices of our members of Congress and elsewhere. 

We know that the Afghan people and the American people want the same thing, and we know an escalation of violence will not get us there.
