Use your influence to reduce US military spending to less than 10% from its current 50% of our tax dollars/budget. Use our tax dollars to ensure the well-being of all people, to promote peace by ensuring food, clothing, shelter, education, healthcare, and livelihood to all people.

Instead of sending troops, send engineers, help them to rebuild what we have destroyed. They deserve our support for a better future, after surviving our destruction for close to a decade. We need to teach the women how to take care of them selves and stand on their own, we need to teach the children to read, and we need to teach the men respect both women and men equally.

Instead of increasing military funding, we should be helping to rebuild schools, roads, homes, etc. Only through education will there be peace.
Fight terror with books, not bombs. Educated women and children will be less likely to turn to terror.

Killing of other humans in war is barbaric! I'm ashamed of my country engaging in this action. Just what in the hell are we defending?

Recent events show that so-called "targeted attacks" mainly affect women and children in Afghanistan, and only create greater animosity against the United States and her allies. It's time to end our failing military engagement in Afghanistan and put political and economic pressure on the Karzai government to end poverty, corruption, and the oppression of women and religious minorities. Let's put the money we would spend on war into a real reconstruction effort, one that will greatly improve the lives of the people there.

Stop genocide in Palestine by halting all corporate benefits from sales of weapons, including Caterpillar tanks to Israel. Hold Israel accountable. Stop the death and begin rebuilding, by giving Palestinians funds for schools, homes. NOW. Turn war profits into a hopeful future for PEOPLE who have suffered because of our actions.

Can you learn nothing from history? Neither the Assyrians, Alexander of Macedonia, the British, nor the Russians have conquered and occupied these people....the poorest in the world, except the new corrupt and wealthy we have created. I have lived there, corrupt then, corrupt now. The Russians killed 1 million Afghans...for what?

Announcing a surge and then attempting to placate that with a timetable for withdrawal is the worst sort of having your cake and eating it too mentality.

President Obama: I know you said during the campaign that you would send more troops to Afghanistan but do you know why we're in Afghanistan? The talaban was in Texas in the late 1999 or in 2000 & Bush told them they wanted a pipe line from the Caspian Sea through Afghanistan to the ocean so their boats could get the oil. We are letting our precious soldiers die for the oil barons to get more oil. Please don't let this happen.Get us out now. Thanks gramma
