When I am joined by 100,000 other U.S. taxpayers, I will join in an act of mass civil disobedience and refuse to pay the portion of my taxes that represents the % we spend on the U.S. military occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan. Like most Americans, I am opposed to this illegal and unjust war. I have appealed to my elected officials and made my concerns known in the public square, but have received no relief. I can no longer, in good conscience, pay for this war. I hope that my non-cooperation will lead to the end of this occupation, and will restrain the administration from taking this country into another war of aggression in Iran. I will include with my tax filing the following letter: Dear Mr President, I have the x% of my taxes but am withholding it until there is a plan being fully executed to bring home our troops, to close the permanent bases in Iraq and funds given to the Iraqi people to rebuild their country and to reimburse them for the damages we have besieged them with. My personal reasons for withholding and joining with others are attached.
