Representative Conyers, head of the House Judiciary Committee, told us there is fear among the Democratic leadership of political blowback if they pressed the case for Impeachment of VP Cheney. In response, Leslie Angeline, a CODEPINK member in DC, launched a fast to pressure Conyers into starting impeachment proceedings against Dick Cheney, a man whose approval ratings hover below 20% and whose impeachment would be unlikely to spawn popular sympathy for the Administration. Leslie fasted for 25 days until she had to stop for health reasons. Ellen Taylor came forward as did other CODEPINKers in DC and around the country who are hungry for impeachment! On April 2nd Leslie and Ellen will again sit-in Cong. Conyers's office to urge him to put impeachment on America's table.
