As we return home after an historic gathering and protest in Cairo, energized by the momentum our global movement has created, we seize the moment to remind Israel and the governments that protect her that our resistance is more powerful than ever, and swelling.
Our convergence in Cairo at the beginning of 2010 produced a document, the Cairo Declaration, and a unique international structure for coordinated actions. We want not just a moment, but a movement, and the Cairo Declaration provides the framework with which to move forward.
In order to keep the momentum going throughout this global network we call on all GFM marchers and supporters to organize demonstrations, vigils or other forms of protest at Israeli embassies and consulates around the world on the weekend of January 16-17 to continue to mark the anniversary of last year’s devastating 3 week brutal assault on Gaza. The purpose of these actions is to demonstrate global solidarity with Palestinians. Thus any action, no matter how small, would contribute significantly to this message.
Take this opportunity to widely distribute the Cairo Declaration and to involve as many organizations and individuals as possible. In order to highlight the global character of this movement, we ask that you register your actions at the following link here.
This site will also allow you to see actions that are already planned in your region and show your local media that you are taking part in a coordinated protest worldwide below.
