I was shocked to learn that you will be giving a key speech at the AIPAC policy conference this weekend. AIPAC spreads confusion and lies about the conflict in Israel and Palestine, blackmails Congress to sign its legislation and fund Israeli war crimes, and is embroiled in treason and espionage. AIPAC demands unquestioning support of Israel, which severely undermines American legitimacy in the region. By speaking at the AIPAC’s policy conference, you are strengthening AIPAC and hurting America.

Over the past decades, the Israeli leaders have time and again found ways to avoid negotiations. The latest excuse is the Fatah-Hamas unity agreement. The US should insist that Israel's leadership stop making excuses and engage directly with the newly-reunited, democratically-elected Palestinian leadership.

Our government should be supporting the spread of democracy in the Middle East, bringing our tax dollars home instead of giving Israel $3 billion a year, and distancing ourselves from human rights abuses wherever they occur, including Israel. It is time for a foreign policy that serves the American people, not a foreign lobby group like AIPAC.
