FREE THE SHMINISTIM – ISRAEL'S YOUNG CONSCIENTIOUS OBJECTORS

Sign below to support the Shministim (means "twelfth-graders" in Hebrew), a group of Israeli youth who refuse to serve in the army because it enforces Israel's 40-year occupation of the Palestinians.

Military service is mandatory after high school for young Jewish Israelis. They believe in a better, more peaceful future for themselves and for Israelis and Palestinians and by signing below you are showing your support for their cause.

They will collect the signatures and personal notes written below and deliver them on December 18th- their day of action- to the Israeli Minister of Defense, Ehud Barak.

Howard Zinn wrote a moving letter of support and we hope you will too! One of the young women has already received her discharge papers because of the pressure!

We have until December 18th to get tens of thousands of letters to be hand-delivered to Ehud Barak.

When you send your message, we'll keep you on our list and will let you know about when you can help.
