Iraqi women have been devastated by the occupation of their country. Whether they continue to live in Iraq or have fled to other countries, Iraqi women face desperate levels of poverty and violence. According to a report by Women for Women International, the majority of Iraqi women believe life has worsened since the U.S. occupation and want the U.S. out of Iraq. Unfortunately, their voices were not heard when General Petraeus gave his report about the status of the war on April 8th and 9th.
