Thank you for all you’ve done to make Maryland a leader in the fight against global warming.

As a Maryland resident, I know that Maryland is especially vulnerable to global warming.  With its 3,100 miles of shoreline, is especially vulnerable to sea level rise, threatening our coastal communities and local species.

Under your leadership, Maryland has taken major strides forward on global warming.  Clean Cars, the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative, investments in efficiency and green buildings have all been major steps in the right direction.

By announcing that you will be a lead sponsor of the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Act, you’ve taken the most important step in curbing Maryland’s contribution to global warming. The bill will protect Maryland’s environment and economy while also spurring strong action at the federal level to address global warming nationwide.

Thank you for your leadership on this issue.  I am proud that Maryland is leading the way towards a more sustainable future.
