To Dominion Resources Board of Directors and CEO Tom Farrell:
Dominion needs to invest in smart energy solutions, not continue down the path of an outdated dirty energy plan. Dominion's plans to build more coal-fired power plants will accelerate global warming, mountain top removal mining, the construction of new transmission lines, and the poisoning of our air and water. Every day, Dominion's 'business as usual' means another mountain is blown up and another community is destroyed in Southwest Virginia.
There is a better way - invest in smart energy solutions like energy efficiency, conservation, and renewable energy. Dominion can be part of the solution by providing clean energy while protecting people's health and safety.

You should be investing capital in energy efficiency, instead of wasting it building a facility that you'll have to shut down in five years anyway. Not to mention the inevitable lawsuits that are going to happen as people catch on to the heavy metal contamination from the coal dust fallout. In all seriousness, I'm dumbfounded that your risk assessment strategy completely missed this. This just shows me that you're not particularly cognizant of the risks in the market - please don't ask for my sympathy when your company gets bankrupted from the your more market-saavy competition and from litigation/carbon taxes.

Do not place profits over the good of your customers. Focus more corporate effort to development of renewable energy.

The only viable energy production should be zero-emission energy production. ANY new construction should meet this criteria.

$1.8 billion buys a lot of off-shore wind energy. The pending Bluewater off-shore project in Delaware has the potential to produce up to 600 MW of electricity, more than the proposed Wise Coal plant, at a cost of 200 mil. less! What possible sense does it make to build a power plant that runs on an expensive fuel that continues to rise in cost? What is to happen to this power plant when meaningful regulations aimed at curbing greenhouse gases go into effect? It's going to happen sooner, or later. The cost to Dominion Power will be great.

Sometimes change is good, Challenge yourself to think out of the box, Challenge yourself to make a profit from renewable resources, Challenge yourself to be a leader of all Power suppliers, Challenge yourself it is never to late to try, Virginia does not have to follow we can lead!!!

We don't need a coal plant in Wise county. When will you stop? When the whole planet is one big moonscape with no trees? Let's draw the line here and now!!!!

Your old coal buring plants in Massachusetts are bad enough. We need clean energy, not more coal. We know that it is too expensive for you to sequester CO2, not to mention that it hasn't yet proven safe.
