Tell President Obama: Reject Keystone XL. Take bold climate action.

After a year of record heat, drought, wildfires and superstorms in the U.S. alone, it’s clear that we have no time to waste in moving off of fossil fuels and to clean energy solutions. President Obama knows it's time to take serious action to respond to climate change, saying that "the failure to do so would betray our children and future generations."

Send him a message today, calling on him to live up to those words by rejecting the Keystone XL tar sands oil pipeline -- a decision that is his alone to make -- and let him know that you will have his back when he does.

Dear President Obama:

I welcomed these words in your inaugural address: “We will respond to the threat of climate change, knowing that the failure to do so would betray our children and future generations.”

Today, I ask you to live up to those words. To meet your call on climate change, you must reject the Keystone XL tar sands oil pipeline, a decision that is yours alone to make. You can’t fight climate change while also approving a project that would lead to massive new amounts of carbon pollution, on top of risking the health and well-being of people along its path. Historic gains to increase gas mileage and regulate carbon pollution will mean nothing if you simultaneously approve Keystone XL and other dirty fossil fuel projects.

After a year of record heat, drought, wildfires and superstorms in the U.S. alone, it’s clear that we have no time to waste in moving off of fossil fuels and to clean energy solutions. If you reject Keystone XL, I and millions of other Americans will forever be in your debt. We will thank you and defend you. We will have your back.
