Commission on Parks and Recreation Applicant Hearings
As of March 9, 2009, more than 200 people applied to serve on the Commission on Parks and Recreation. The following advises of the hearing schedule, which is intended to provide all applicants an opportunity to appear before Council. This schedule was largely dictated by the upcoming budget hearings, which will consume almost all of Council’s time in the very near future.
There will be four hearings on four different days. Each hearing is scheduled to last for four hours and will be conducted by Council’s Committee on Parks, Recreation & Cultural Affairs. The hearing schedule based on the first letter of the applicants last name.

All hearings will be held in Room 400 City Hall. Please note the location for the hearing on March 24th has changed. The hearing will still take place from 2PM to 6PM but will gather in the Caucas Room, room 401. The hearing on March 26th will be held in Room 400, as originally scheduled.
Visitors must enter at the northeast corner of City Hall. All applicants are asked to keep their testimony to two to three minutes in length. Applicants will be called forward in alphabetical order, and after presenting their testimony, may be asked questions by members of Council.
While applicant attendance at a public hearing is encouraged, the application will be considered whether or not the applicant appears at a hearing.
