Tell Dolce & Gabbana that their baby perfume idea stinks!

Lead in lipstick. Hair straighteners made with cancer-causing chemicals. The list goes on. When it comes to hazardous cosmetics, we thought we had seen it all.

And now this: Perfume for babies, brought to you by Dolce and Gabbana Fragrance, which has recently announced plans to sell the product in the US. So wrong.

Babies are especially susceptible to the dangers of toxic chemicals in fragrances and other personal care products. Early life exposure to toxic chemicals that mimic hormones can contribute to early puberty in girls and may have long term impacts that manifest later in life, including an increased risk of breast cancer and other cancers.

Take action today and call on Dolce & Gabbana Fragrance, a Proctor and Gamble brand, to reverse course and halt the development and sale of its baby cologne.

I’m writing to urge Procter & Gamble not to sell Dolce & Gabbana’s baby perfume, which will potentially harm babies by exposing them to toxic chemicals that may threaten their health.

Ingredients in many fragrances can have serious health consequences for babies:

•	Early life exposure to toxic chemicals that mimic hormones can contribute to early puberty in girls and may have long term impacts that manifest later in life, including an increased risk of breast cancer and other cancers, as well as infertility.
•	The brains of babies and young children are more vulnerable to toxic chemicals than adult brains
•	Even low doses of chemicals transmitted through perfumes and other personal care products can have profound health effects on babies and young children

Because you do not disclose fragrance ingredients on your product labels, how will parents be able to make informed decisions about the products they are buying to protect their kids from unsafe chemical exposures?  Companies like yours need to do their part to protect the most vulnerable members of our society, not place them at greater risk of harm.

I urge P&G to show its commitment to protecting children’s health by stopping the sale of Dolce & Gabbana’s baby cologne and eliminating chemicals of concern from all of your baby products and adult personal care products worldwide.
