Tell your School Board: Protect Education, Oppose 60, 61, and 101!
This November, Colorado voters will consider three anti-education and anti-Colorado ballot initiatives -- Amendments 60 & 61 and Proposition 101 -- that would devastate our education system and make it impossible for our state to recover or compete. Because it's critical that all voters know the scope of their effects, we need every school board in the state to adopt resolutions against these "bad three".
Please sign the petition below to add your voice to others in your community calling on your school board to help protect Colorado's schools, colleges and universities by adopting resolutions to officially oppose these dangerous initiatives. We'll make sure your message is delivered to your school board members.
As your constituents, we call on you to take swift action against three anti-education, anti-Colorado ballot initiatives on this year's ballot -- Amendments 60, 61, and Proposition 101 -- each of which would result in thousands of teacher lay-offs, skyrocketing class sizes, fees, and college tuition; and Colorado would simply be unable to recover from the recession or to compete economically with other states and nations.
We can't let this happen. Our schools and colleges are already woefully underfunded. As a school board member, you are in a unique position to help make sure we don't fall even further behind.
We urge you to adopt the Colorado Association of School Boards' resolutions against these harmful ballot measures. You can view these resolutions at http://www.greateducation.org/resolution.
Great futures start with a great education, but even mediocre education will be impossible if any of these "bad three" pass this November. Please do everything in your power to ensure that won't happen.
