Sign the 2013: Year of the Student Call to Action
Your future -- and the future of our state and our country -- depends on quality education. And quality education requires adequate investment in our schools, colleges and universities.
Unfortunately, Colorado's been cutting funding for education instead of making sure that students have the highly effective teachers, technology, broad curriculum and activities they need to get ready for citizenship and work in the 21st century.
Did you know:
- Colorado gained 9,000 students in 2010, but lost 500 teachers?
- Student-teacher ratios in Colorado are among the largest in the country?
- High school students in some districts are limited to five or six courses because the district can't afford more teachers?
- Colorado ranks 49th in support for higher education?
Simply put, Colorado's education funding system is broken. That's why over 100 organizations and thousands of Coloradans have already come together around the statement below to make 2013 The Year of the Student.
Sign below if you believe the time has come to do right by Colorado's students.
