Global Development Program

Description
The Global Development Program provides an opportunity for students to offer ideas, leadership, and capital to leverage social innovation and local community resources to alleviate poverty.  Through a new kind of development based on social entrepreneurship, Think Impact interns and fellows create sustainable business models for development projects and mobilize community leaders to implement them.  The Global Development Internship during summer vacations lays the groundwork for new projects, while the fellowship program continues year round.

Global Development Internship
The Global Development Internship (GDI) provides college students the opportunity to gain on-the-ground development experience and leadership training to develop sustainable business models for development projects in rural villages in Africa 

Global Development Fellowship
The Fellowship (GDF) is an expenses-paid opportunity for GDI alumni to return to their host community to facilitate a new health or education initiative.

Where We Work

Think Impact’s projects and programs currently directly affect those living in rural communities in Kayafungo, Kenya and Manyeleti, South Africa. It is the goal of the organization to expand its work to other African countries and even rural communities in developing nations on other continents.
