TAKE ACTION: Urge Obama to Choose Linda Darling-Hammond as Secretary of Education

On the campaign trail, Barack Obama promised to bring major change to the United States if he was elected President. Now we need to make sure that he fulfills his promises to improve our schools. That is why we are calling on you to urge Obama to appoint Linda Darling-Hammond as the new Secretary of Education.

Linda Darling-Hammond--a Stanford professor, a leader in education reform, and a CFJ ally--is not only respected among academics, she also has broad support among grassroots community organizers and educators because of her dedication to progressive education reform and her commitment to closing the opportunity gap for low-income students and students of color.

Fill in your information below to send this e-mail asking Obama to appoint Darling-Hammond. PLEASE TAKE ACTION SOON! Nominations for the Secretary of Education could be announced as soon as next week, so your feedback is needed now.

This action is not available to people in your area.

Please e-mail your friends this link and ask them to join us in urging Obama to appoint Linda Darling-Hammond as Secretary of Education!

We need you!
