Beyond AIGThe new federal budget is a step toward fairness in our economy. We can't bail out investment banks and leave food banks behind. However, members of Congress will be under intense pressure to cut funding for many important programs keeping tens of thousands of families afloat. The President’s proposed budget will ease the strain on public and private service providers by increasing support for nutrition assistance, health care and tax cuts for low and middle-income families.
