Hobby Lobby, Christianity isn't an excuse to deny women health care!

Hobby Lobby is a major arts-and-crafts retailer with stores in 41 states. The company is owned by evangelical Christians who say the company's mission includes "sharing the Lord's blessings with our employees" -- except, apparently, when it comes to paying for women's health care.

Hobby Lobby just filed a lawsuit against the Obama administration to block the part of health care reform that requires covering their female employees' birth control.

The company claims that providing birth-control coverage would violate their religious beliefs. But the National Association of Evangelicals says their member churches overwhelmingly endorse family planning for married couples, and one study found that 100% of evangelical women have used artificial means of birth control. So in an effort to confuse matters, Hobby Lobby is falsely claiming that the morning-after pill causes abortion even though studies have repeatedly shown that it doesn't.

Hobby Lobby needs to hear immediately that's it's unacceptable -- and bad for business -- to use Christian faith as an excuse to undermine health care reforms that will prevent abortions and improve the lives of women and families.

Tell Hobby Lobby to drop their lawsuit -- or we'll tell our friends to stop shopping there.

Don't use your Christian faith as an excuse to obstruct health care reform and deny women access to birth control. I won't shop at your store until you drop this lawsuit, and I'll tell my friends to do the same.
