Keep the Restigouche Wild

CPAWS has identified 100,000 hectares in the Restigouche River watershed that are critical for maintaining this wild area’s health and the local ecotourism industry. We’re asking New Brunswick and Québec to permanently protect these wildest parts of Restigouche.

We’re also asking the provinces for better protection of riverbanks, steep slopes, headwater streams, and old forest habitats in the rest of the Restigouche – one of eastern Canada’s wildest remaining river valleys. This is a place where salmon, lynx, bears and eagles thrive – within a day’s drive for millions of North Americans.

Show your support for keeping the Restigouche River watershed wild by signing this petition. CPAWS’ goal is to collect 3,000 names by April 2010.

As a step towards The Big Wild vision of protecting at least half of Canada’s wilderness, I support protecting the Restigouche River watershed, one of Eastern Canada’s greatest wilderness areas, located in New Brunswick and Québec.

Please ensure the wildest areas in the Restigouche are protected forever.
