Take Action to Save the National Scenic Byways Program

beartooth scenic byway
Beartooth Highway, an All-American Road often called "America's most beautiful drive," winds through Montana and Wyoming.

Scenic America is very distraught to learn that the transportation bills currently in Congress would eliminate or seriously handicap the National Scenic Byways Program.  The House transportation bill (H.R.7) would completely eliminate the Program, while the Senate bill (MAP-21) maintains the Program but fails to provide dedicated funding for its administration.

By all measures, the National Scenic Byways Program has been a success, and abolishing it would be devastating to the 150 distinct and diverse roads already designated by the U.S. Secretary of Transportation as National Scenic Byways and All-American Roads.
