By a vote of 263 - 171, the House of Representatives passed the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act (H.R. 1424).

As a consequence of the current economic crisis, NCRC has maintained that Congressional action was necessary.  However, any bailout legislation passed without adequately addressing the home foreclosure crisis is insufficient.

Even though Congress is set to adjourn, NCRC and its members will continue to work to address the foreclosure crisis and ensure that such a crisis does not occur in the future.
