Dear Scenic Hudson Member,

This Thursday, Jan. 15, Scenic Hudson is presenting comments on the Town of Montgomery's Draft Economic Development Plan (EDP). The current version of the plan contains many improvements, but we are concerned that it is still too narrowly focused on industrial development.

Our specific recommendations include:

  • Ensuring that future development in the town's "traditional neighborhood" hamlets is appropriately scaled and focused.
  • Routing new road construction away from wetlands and natural resources, like Stewart State Forest.
  • Commitment to initiate an Open Space Plan as soon as EDP is completed.

The public is encouraged to come to the Town of Montgomery offices at 110 Bracken Road at 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 15 to hear our complete comments and  feedback from other members of the community. You can also download the text of our comments via this link (pdf, 132K).
