| Dear Scenic Hudson Member, We'd like to invite you to preview Columbia County's newest public park! This Saturday, Scenic Hudson's landscape architects are hosting a special event to unveil plans for a new 6.5-acre park, just north of the City of Hudson, that will offer dramatic views of the Hudson River and Catskill Mountains. The future park will be surrounded by 92 acres of protected meadow and woodlands. The free event will be held Saturday, Sept. 20, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the future park site on Rod and Gun Road in Stockport. The rain-or-shine event will feature family-friendly games and activities, a free luncheon and an opportunity to review a master plan for the park. Please plan for the weather by wearing sunscreen and dressing for the outdoors. The park property is located on a former dairy farm just five miles north of downtown Hudson. Plans for the park include a picnic pavilion, wheelchair-accessible trails and a picnic area. The park will be open from dawn to dusk and is intended for everyone to enjoy the beauty and scenery of this area of the Hudson Valley.
Directions: From City of Hudson take Rte. 9 to W. Atlantic Rd., bear left on Rod and Gun Rd. Park and conservation area are 1 mile on left. [Map]
