Dear Scenic Hudson Member:

We're sending this message to inform you that Scenic Hudson will be appearing before the Village of Cornwall on Hudson Planning Board for a public hearing on Tuesday, June 17, at 8 P.M.

At the meeting, we'll be seeking approval for modifications to the informational kiosk that we're planning to install at the nearly completed Esty and Hellie Stowell Trailhead at Storm King, which is located on property owned by the Five Points Mission at 42 Bayview Avenue.

In addition to protecting the natural environment of the Hudson Valley, an important part of Scenic Hudson's mission is to create new ways for the public to access and enjoy our beautiful river and its surrounding landscapes. The Stowell Trailhead -- which provides hikers with a new way to experience some spectacular views of the Hudson River and the Hudson Highlands -- is a perfect example of this part of our work and a fitting tribute to the Stowells, who, as lifelong Scenic Hudson supporters, did so much to protect this majestic mountain. The informational kiosk at the entrance to the trail is designed to enhance hikers' experience of the mountain by providing a map of the trail system and some background information about the impressive history of Storm King mountain.

WHAT: Village of Cornwall on Hudson Planning Board Meeting
WHERE: Village Hall, 325 Hudson St., Cornwall on Hudson
WHEN: Tuesday, June 17, 8 P.M.

We're asking people in the community to attend the meeting and speak out in support of this final step in completing this newest access point to Storm King Mountain.

Feel free to contact Joe Kiernan (845 473 4440, x262) if you have any questions or need further information.
