Like most places in the valley, Ulster County is grappling with how to grow in a smart way that doesn't trash all the things that make living here so appealing. I know that you, as a Scenic Hudson member, wouldn't want to miss the opportunity to speak up for the future you want for the place you call home.

Because the county is important to Scenic Hudson, we've had three of our community planning experts take part in stakeholder meetings that have shaped a draft Open Space Plan. The plan deals with vital stuff such as clean water, working farms, a healthy environment, recreation and more.

Now meetings have been scheduled for residents to learn about and comment on the draft plan authored by the county planning board and environmental management council. Here at Scenic Hudson, we believe that public participation in the planning process is crucial. It's the only way to ensure that the Open Space Plan truly reflects what the people -- including you -- want for Ulster County's future.
