School's Out Winter Fun Day

Quadricentennial Event

Banish cabin fever by letting your kids enjoy a variety of fun, free and educational activities on their day off. For starters, they’ll meet six magnificent birds of prey courtesy of Bill Streeter, director of the Delaware Valley Raptor Center. Then they can search for these creatures in their natural habitat, try out a pair of Tubbs Snowshoes, learn how to start a fire and build a shelter the Native American way with “Shane Whitefeather” Hobel of Mountain Scout Survival School, and discover the unique geometry of snowflakes and create their own winter wonderland courtesy of instructors and materials provided by Mill Street Loft.

Schedule of Events:

  • Noon - 1 p.m. “Close Encounters with Birds of Prey”
  • 1 - 2 p.m. Guided park tour
  • 1 - 3 p.m. " Crystals in the Sky - An Art Exploration of the Magical Snowflake" with Mill Street Loft
  • 2 - 4 p.m. “Fire and Shelter Building the Native American Way” with Shane “Whitefeather” Hobel
