Kevin Salem, composer of the soundtrack to Lola, California: I met Edie Meidav a few years ago. One of the first things Edie said about Lola, California was ... that there was a soundtrack to the writing process quite separate from that and, in fact, she envisioned her novel having a life alongside the music and dance she loved. (The soundtrack) is the result of three years of procrastination and a couple weeks of cramming which, really, is how music is supposed to be. We hope that the novel and the soundtrack work together not literally, but like distant cousins who bear a resemblance you can't quite put your finger on.
