Another version of the so-called Vested Rights Act was just amended by the New York State Senate.

By "vesting" or freezing land use development rights within months after an application has been submitted to a municipality, this legislation disregards our state's much-loved home rule tradition. It limits the ability of municipalities to protect working farms and native landscapes, safeguard clean drinking water, promote healthy local food production and preserve a billion-dollar tourist industry.
