BP's continuing oil spill disaster is devastating proof of the high cost that comes with our dependence on oil and other dirty energy sources. We will pay the price for Big Oil's reckless behavior for years to come: damaged health, ravaged coastal economies, destruction of entire ecosystems and the fish, birds and other animals that live there.
Energy technologies which degrade and deplete the nation's water resources need to be phased out. Urge your U.S. Senators and Representative to stand up to Big Oil and do the right thing, for a change.
Congress must also do everything they can to hold the polluters accountable for the full costs of clean-up and restoration in the wake of this spill, as well as the economic harm they have perpetrated. The communities that have been affected must be made whole.
Our energy needs can be met with clean energy that will not result in disasters like the Gulf oil spill. By moving away from the old, dirty energy technologies and fuels of the past we can curb global warming pollution, and create jobs and build strong local economies.
Clean Water Action is working for energy policies that make water protection a priority, and we need your help.
Take a stand against dirty energy. Tell your Senators and your Representative to reject the push for more offshore oil drilling and support a clean energy future.
