Washington State: Help Protect Overseas Voters' Right to a Secure Ballot!
Last year, you and hundreds of other dedicated Washingtonians helped to prevent a rush to insecure Internet voting. We need your help again today. The state Senate is considering House Bill 2483, a bill that would allow completed ballots to be returned via fax or e-mail.
Computer scientists warn that Internet voting is insecure, and that e-mail voting is especially insecure. Even more important, sending voted ballots via e-mail is unnecessary. Blank absentee ballots can be sent to voters via fax or e-mail, allowing them the time to print the blank ballot, mark it, and send it back via postal mail. Recent Federal legislation would make that process even smoother by offering expedited postal delivery of completed ballots.
