Tell Governor Kitzhaber to get out his veto pen!

The Oregon Cattlemen's Association wants to kill wolves and the law won't let them. Now they want to change the law. Governor Kitzhaber can stop them.

Fighting out-of-touch wolf kill bills has become an annual event in Salem. But this time anti-wildlife interests have outdone themselves. They want the state to pass legislation declaring a state of emergency that allows them to go back to the bad old days of killing wolves.

Oregon is home to over 1.3 million cows and 29 wolves.

Time and again Oregonians have spoken out in favor of wolf and wildlife conservation, but we need to do it again. Tell Governor Kitzhaber that Oregon has real emergencies. We don't need to waste our time fighting over killing endangered wolves.

It’s most important that you take action, but your message will have added weight if you use your own words.

Please feel free to change the subject line and text to tell Governor Kitzhaber why you care about wildlife and expect him to veto this hysterical bill, but please note that the Governor’s website limits comments to 1,000 characters (including spaces and your name & address which will be automatically filled in).

If you have more to say – follow up with a phone call to the Governor's comment line at 503.378.4582.
