Green the America's Cup Sailing Races in San Francisco

AMERICA’S CUP ENVIRONMENTALLY ON COURSE, BUT STILL SHY OF THE MARK

We've made huge strides toward ensuring an environmentally responsible America's Cup sailing event on San Francisco Bay.  Help us race to the finish line this week as we seek the strongest possible protections for the Bay's air, water and environment.

The Final Environmental Impact Report recognizes that the sailboat races, crowds and waterfront development will generate “significant and unavoidable impacts even with mitigation.”   However,  these environmental impacts can be minimized if promises to protect the Bay’s air, water, and marine life are fulfilled, such as requiring clean marine fuels and engines for race management boats and shoreside electrical hookups for superyachts.

Take Action Today! Please urge the San Franciso Planning Commissioners and the Port of San Francisco to do the right thing so the environmental community can get fully on board! Read more about our efforts to green the America's Cup here.

THANKS TO THE MORE THAN 200 PEOPLE WHO SENT MESSAGES TO THE PLANNING AND PORT COMMISSIONERS. We were able to win important air and water quality protections. Some environmental concerns remains and we will help to resolve them. Read more here.
